Anxiety, Depression and Social DIscomfort

I have suffered with anxiety for a while now and my perspective has change on the matter hugely. Firstly I looked at it through psychological stream of thinking, and I found that psychology made it in to a ‘problem’ that needs ‘fixing’. As if the anxiety is the thorn in the finger that needs to be taking out in order for everything to be ok. And I assume that many people will go down the same route as seeing it in a similar way. So we end up on this impossible journey of trying to get rid of anxiety; believing that anxiety is not right, not normal. In my opinion this misses the point completely. I have a different approach on anxiety and depression now! My view is that it can be a complete blessing! It is almost like someone shouting heeeeeeeyyyyyy stop you can’t handle life this way no more. You can’t handle all this pressure on yourself no more. You aren’t able to live with this disturbing voice in your head no more. So stop! Don’t run away from it. Look! See that voice creating all the noise, all the frustration, all the anxieties and all of its worries. You are being pulled along like a little puppy on a leader by these thoughts! They lure attention towards it we believe it and then build up this labyrinth of beliefs about ourselves. Then it creates anxiety and immediately we run away, noooo I don’t want to feel like that! But the anxiety is making you aware of your thought processes. Every single way you feel is manifested through your beliefs. Every single way. So we have to observe and sit with these feelings. It is not easy sitting with these is not easy but there is freedom at the end. You will start to bring up layers of how you think and observe how they cause you suffering. you will realise how false these beliefs are and how hard we are on ourselves. so I ask the question is belief required ? when a thought comes up ask yourself is that belief necessary ? or is it even true ? if it keeps on repeating itself day in day out. does that mean it is true or does that mean it is on repeat ? habitual ? So just sit and allow everything to present itself.
